40 Years Family Owned and Operated

Gales Ferry Marina has been in existence for nearly 40 years. It has been developed, owned and operated by Jim Lewis since its inception in 1960 when he began building the marina on a small cove located just north of the U.S. Submarine Base on the Thames River in Connecticut. He used his skills as a creative thinker and his lifelong love affair with all things mechanical to transform the idyllic cove into the site of one of the area's most respected marine service yards. Due to the restrictions that the small cove presented, Lewis knew that he would have to place most of his energy into ensuring that his boatyard would always emphasize and highlight service: mechanical, structural and otherwise. Currently, Gales Ferry Marina is one of the most comprehensive marine mechanical repair facilities in the state.
